The agreement is part of the “Supporting Higher Education for the Disadvantaged Syrian Refugees and Young Jordanians – EDU-SYRIA III” project, funded by the European Union by the European Union Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis, The Madad Fund, which offers young people the opportunity to take higher education (bachelor and master`s, vocational training and technical training), in addition to teacher training, entrepreneurship, vocational courses and summer programs. On Sunday 26 July 2020, Professor Manar Fayyad, President of the German University of Jordan, and Mahmoud Abu Shaera, President of the Zarqa Corporation for Education and Investment, signed the agreement on the European Union-funded EDU-SYRIA/EDU-JORDAN scholarship programme to help 470 Syrian refugees. For his part, the company`s vice-president, Osama Abu Shaera, stressed the importance of such agreements and the extent of their impact on students under EU supervision. He added that the university was interested in making all educational and educational materials available to reflect its excellence and academic achievement, and stressed that the agreement to support the higher education project for Syrian refugees and Jordanian youth was being agreed. The German-Jordanian University (GJU) is a state university in Mushaqar. It was founded in 2005 by a royal decree, in accordance with an agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany. In August 2004, a founding committee began working in Jordan. The committee was working closely with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. At the same time, the German office of studies at the University of Magdeburg-Stendal opened its doors in close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF and the German academic exchange service DAAD, which funded the university project for four years. The university focuses on the provision of the highest quality bachelor`s and postgraduate programs. We offer more than 20 programs with a group of about 5,000 students, mainly from Jordan, but also international students.

We are proud of our student learning environment and believe that the quality of education is based on close links between the faculty and students.
